Description
An international law firm is in need of a Paralegal Manager based in its Los Angeles Office to oversee and manage the operations of the litigation paralegal team.
Responsibilities
- Supervise and manage a team of litigation paralegals, providing guidance, coaching, and mentoring to ensure high performance and productivity.
- Develop and implement processes and procedures to streamline the workflow of the litigation paralegal team, ensuring efficient and effective support to the litigation attorneys.
- Coordinate Supervise and manage the assignment of tasks and projects to the litigation paralegal team, ensuring deadlines are met and work is of high quality.
- Collaborate with litigation attorneys and other legal professionals to develop litigation strategies, analyze case documents, and assist in trial preparation.
- Conduct legal research and analysis, including case law, statutes, and regulations, to support litigation efforts.
- Manage and maintain litigation databases, document management systems, and electronic filing systems.
- Review and analyze legal documents, including pleadings, discovery, and other litigation-related documents, for accuracy and completeness.
- Assist in the preparation of legal documents, such as pleadings, motions, and briefs, for filing with courts and administrative agencies.
- Coordinate and manage document productions, including document collection, review, and production to opposing counsel or regulatory agencies.
- Stay up-to-date with changes in laws, regulations, and industry trends related to litigation and provide recommendations to ensure compliance.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Paralegal Studies, Legal Studies, or a related field.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience as a litigation paralegal, with a strong background in litigation support and case management.
- Proven experience in managing and leading a team of litigation paralegals.
- Strong knowledge of federal and state court rules, procedures, and filing requirements.
- Excellent organizational skills with the ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple deadlines.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy in work product.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Proficient in legal research tools, litigation support software, and document management systems.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
- Familiarity with e-discovery and electronic document review platforms.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with discretion.
- Professional demeanor with the ability to interact effectively with attorneys, clients, and staff.
