Top Am Law 50 seeks an Associate Director of Business Development for flagship LA office. Collaborating closely with partners, you will drive business development and marketing initiatives to fortify relationships with key clients and strategically attract new business. Based in the Century City office, you'll have the flexibility to work in our Downtown, Los Angeles office one day a week.

Firm seeks a forward-thinking, creative professional with a knack for both strategic thinking and hands-on execution.

The ideal candidate possesses a generalist background in corporate transactions, commercial litigation, and IP. A strategic, self-motivated, and innovative leader with strong business acumen and effective communication skills, you should be capable of executing multiple projects simultaneously. Experience in mentoring and managing junior team members is essential.

 

Responsibilities

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide proactive support for pitches and RFPs, offer insights on market opportunities, manage client relationships, and assist in preparing lawyer teams for strategic opportunities.
  • Convey the firm's story through pitches, directory submissions, and various initiatives. Oversee directory nominations, collaborating across the West Coast team for strategy discussions, research, and compelling copy creation. Manage related project management and follow-up tasks.

 

Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree required; graduate degree preferred.
  • Ten years of related experience, with five years in a managerial or senior managerial role in a law firm environment.
  • Comprehensive understanding of corporate practices.
  • Excellent writing, editing, proofreading, and presentation skills.
  • Strong understanding of the Los Angeles market and Americas market dynamics.
  • Experience in developing and managing junior business development staff.
  • Client service-oriented, comfortable interacting with firm leadership and senior administrative personnel.
  • Track record of creating persuasive content across various mediums.

Technologies/Software:

  • Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Experience with CRM platforms, preference for InterAction and eMarketing tools.
